Corey has over twenty years of tax experience in servicing large and closely held business entities. He specializes in U.S. international tax compliance, consulting, planning and structuring. He has spent the majority of his career assisting high-growth companies in the manufacturing, consumer market, financial institution, real estate and professional service industries. Additionally, he has extensive experience with developing cutting-edge federal and multi-state tax reduction strategies. He has also successfully represented his clients in front of the Internal Revenue Service, Franchise Tax Board, and other government agencies.
Prior to joining TYWL, Corey was a senior tax manager with KPMG in Los Angeles for six years. During his tenure at KPMG, Corey provided tax services to some of the firm’s largest clients in the Los Angeles office. In this capacity, Corey has developed an expertise in the following subject areas: “inbound” and “outbound” international tax issues, tax controversy matters, tax accounting methods, corporate acquisition strategies, financial institution taxation, partnership taxation, multi-state income and franchise tax issues, and accounting for income taxes under ASC 740.
Corey received a Master of Science in Accountancy from California State University of Fullerton and a Master of Science in Taxation from Golden Gate University. Corey is a Certified Public Accountant in state of California, he is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
